System Host Boards (SHB) PICMG 1.3

System host boards (SHBs) use PCI Express serial links to a PICMG 1.3 backplane. The SHBs come in dual-and single-processor, graphics-or server-class models. Graphics-class versions feature a x16 PCIe link to a backplane and server-class SHBs feature multiple x8 or x4 PCIe links. In addition to PCI Express option cards, PICMG 1.3 SHBs support PCI-X, PCI and ISA option cards depending on the specific PICMG 1.3 backplane.
